Leeds Locality Development Scheme

LLDS comprises three groups, based on the three main areas of Leeds:

• West North West
• East North East
• South

Each group focuses on the key issues for disabled people and their carers in their area, often linking in with regeneration plans, local housing associations and health and social care bodies.

This scheme is in the middle of an exciting transitional phase, having almost reached the end of its Big Lottery Fund support and the staff this pays for. So, members are being trained in effective representation and the running and financing of their groups. From August 2009 onwards the LLDS groups will be entirely independent from Leeds Involvement Project, but will of course remain cherished partners.
