Community Equipment Users' Advisory Group
For those of you unfamiliar with Leeds Community Equipments Services, known as (LCES), they provide a variety of aids to enable you to live independently at home, such as seating aids, profile beds, hearing and visual aids, bathing and transfer aids.
The ‘Equipment Advisory’ group is made up of service users and carers who use equipment from Leeds Community Equipment Services. The group meets four times a year and sends representatives from their meeting to a Community Equipment Board which includes representation from different service providers. Some of our representatives attend additional meetings to consult about service changes and developments.
The equipment advisory group currently has vacancies for new service user and carer involvement. If you use Community Equipment Services and want to use your experience to improve service delivery for all service users and carers we can offer you support to attend meetings with your expenses paid including transport and carer replacement costs. We welcome all services users including parent carers who use children’s services and service users who use sensory equipment (i.e. hearing and visual equipment aids).
This is a small but friendly group, so you can contribute as much as you feel able. Opportunities are always available for training and support for new members.
If you use equipment service and want to get involved in this group, please contact us at Leeds Involvement Project.
