About Leeds Involvement Project

Leeds Involvement Project is a service users and carers organisation. Our aim is to enable those who use community care services to take control over their own health and social care needs.

We have a paid staff of eight who each have different roles within the Project.

Lucy Wilkinson is the Project Manager and there are four Involvement workers and 3 admin workers. In addition a number of other people work for us on short-term projects.

The Project supports various groups. Each of these groups tell service providers like the Health Service and Leeds City Council what they think of those services and what needs to be done to improve them.

In the "Our work" section of this website are details of all the groups that we support. If you are interested in getting involved with any of the groups please contact us.

Get involved and make your views and needs noticed and acted upon by those in charge of setting up health and community care services.

We also provide advice to service providers on involvement issues.

Our principles are:

  • To promote the social model of disability.
  • To promote a holistic approach to health.
  • To ensure that a diverse range of service users and carers are involved, prioritising those who face additional discrimination or disadvantage.
  • To develop innovative approaches to involvement work.
